Hi Al,
your beautiful Hebridean pictures lured me to the islands a few weeks ago.
One specific question: how do you attach the Nikkor wide angle lens to your Canon? Are any functions lost?
Thanks:
Gabor

Great work Al with a good eye for composition and dramatic interest. I spend a fair bit of time working in and around the Chilterns and enjoy scenes like these every day I'm out. More please!

Your photography is outstanding, and makes me feel like I'm viewing paintings in an art gallery! I'm from the USA, but totally fell in love with your country while visiting about a year ago. I hope you never tire of photography, your work is so very beautiful!

Hello Al,

I have just discovered your photographs and am really impressed. Having been a student in Mill Hill 10 years ago and now living in the Chilterns makes it more special! I have been trying photography of fungi too but can hardly find them! I look forward to seeing more of your photos now I have bookmarked the site.

Al,

Thanks for your comments on my Monteverde fern. I used Lightroom to do a little de-noise and smooth it out a bit. Plus I used Lightroom to crop and bring out the blacks and added some luminance to the red. This can be seen herehttp://www.pbase.com/jengle/image/72910340

Second update was to take the Lightroom version into Photoshop and soften the background using Blur tool, then smudged it a bit along with the vine in the lower right corner. Then I dodged the light areas of the background. I thought I liked the vine in the bottom right, esp. with the moss tendril creeping around it. Hmmm. The second version is posted herehttp://www.pbase.com/jengle/image/72909801
